Four Harriets: Three Runaways and a Novelist 3 Sessions with Marilyn Harris on Wednesdays, starting Jan 10, 1:00PM-2:30PM
In her book, Well-Behaved Women Seldom Make History, Laurel Thatcher Ulrich briefly highlights four outstanding women: Harriet Powell, Harriet Jacobs, Harriet Tubman, and Harriet Beecher Stowe. We will delve further into their stories to try to understand more about the situation of enslaved women in the Antebellum South and how their struggles and victories relate to women’s history.
