    Learn about basic bottomless sand filter (BSF) designs and where and when to use them. We will teach you all the essentials about designs, site preparation, locating components in the treatment train, constructing a filter enclosure, and packing the filter with media. Later in the day we’ll view a demonstration BSF at the Training Center located at URI’s Peckham Farm. Instructors: Tim Stasiunas, Brian Moore (RIDEM), Dave Burnham, NEOWTP Staff.

    This class is required by RIDEM and the MADEP before you can design or install a BSF in Rhode Island or Massachusetts. You must take OWT 105 – Innovative & Alternative Technology Overview before taking this BSF class.
