Use your URI ID number starting with 100XXXXXX as your “Account Number” and enter your last name. You will also need your license plate number as well as the make and model of your vehicle.
Upon order completion, one free hang tag will be mailed to you. The permit should arrive at the shipping address that you provide within 5 to 7 business days. Your vehicle’s license plate number is used as a temporary parking pass until your new permit arrives in the mail. There will be a $25.00 replacement fee for any lost or misplaced hang tag.
If you are unable to log on to the website, contact Parking Services at 401-874-9281, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Displaying Hang Tags
Hang tags should be placed on rear view mirrors with the serial number facing the windshield so that it can be read from outside of the vehicle. If you are unable to hang it on the mirror, similarly place the hang tag on the driver’s side of the dashboard with the serial number facing up towards the windshield.
Transferring Hang Tags
Only one parking hang tag will be issued per registrant. However, you may have at most two vehicles registered in your account at any one time. If you have registered two vehicles, your hang tag should be transferred between each vehicle as they are used. Forgetting to transfer your hang tag to the registered vehicle in which you are using may result in issuance of a citation and possible towing at the owner’s expense even if the vehicle is properly registered. If you do forget to transfer your hang tag, report to the Visitors Center and obtain a temporary dashboard permit before you park your vehicle on campus.
Do not transfer your hang tag to any non-registered vehicle. If a new vehicle is being used, simply contact Parking Services to register the new vehicle.
Sharing of Hang Tags
Parking hang tags may not be shared for any reason. If a valid hang tag is found on a student’s or non-registered vehicle, that car will be towed at the owners expense and issued a citation. Parking privileges for all parties involved will also be revoked.
Falsifying URI parking permits constitutes fraud punishable by fine, parking privilege revocation, and/or expulsion.
