Electives

B.S.P.S. students must complete a minimum of 12 credits of B.S.P.S. Electives. These courses will be chosen with the help of the Program Advisor from the following list of BPS, PHP, Basic Science, and Business courses. At leats 6 of the 12 credits must be courses form the college(BPS, PHP, OR phc DESIGNATIONS) and up to 6 of 12 credits may be met by completing BPS 497 and 498, Experimental Research, which involve laboratory research projects performed under the mentorship of individual BPS faculty members, or by internships in pharmaceutical related companies. As new courses are developed throughout the college and the University, they will be evaluated for their appropriateness for inclusion as possible B.S.P.S. electives. By selecting courses within a focused area, students can begin to develop an area of concentration in pharmaceutical sales and marketing, drug discovery, pharmaceutics and drug manufacturing, health outcomes, regulatory affairs and more. Students should discuss their areas of interest with the BSPS advisor for guidance on the best selection of courses to meet their educational goals

Students who elect to enter graduate programs in the basic sciences may choose courses appropriate to a particular discipline. All B.S.P.S. Electives must meet the approval of the Program Director. There are no requirements for certification or licensing associated with the B.S.P.S. degree.
