It is with great sadness that the Physical Therapy Department learned that Dr. Mark Rowinski passed away on Friday, September 18. He came to Rhode Island in 1989 to start the Physical Therapy Program at the University of Rhode Island and developed the curriculum, hired faculty, recruited students, and guided the program through both the University’s approval processes and the initial accreditation. He was active in the RI-APTA and played a major role in the professional lives of many in physical therapy in Rhode Island. Visitation and services will be held on Wednesday, September 23 in Holliston MA.
