Biography

Robert A. Weygand is a member of the faculty in the Department of Political Science and Director of the graduate program in Public Administration. A former U.S. Congressman and Rhode Island lieutenant governor, he combines political theory with his real world experiences from local government agencies to the Halls of Congress. He specializes in public administration, ethics, American politics and public policy while fostering a high level of student engagement with coursework relevant to current and future political conditions and our democratic processes. Before joining the URI faculty Weygand was the Vice President for Administration and Finance for the University for more than nine years and previously the president and CEO of the New England Board of Higher Education in Boston.
