Annual Review and Promotion for Lecturers

In the third week of December, URI and Interfolio officially became partners in offering an Annual Review, Promotion, and Tenure (RPT) system that will be less cumbersome and streamlined in managing the multiple stages of developing your materials and submitting them for review than the current homegrown Adobe Acrobat/Sakai system.  Our colleagues in Information Technology, Interfolio partners, and the Office of the Provost have been working on the set-up, template construction, and data integration since the first week in January and we will be ready to launch use of the new system for annual reviews for Lecturers, Senior Lecturers, and Teaching Professors this spring.  On February 1 (Agenda), trainers from Interfolio will be here offering various sessions throughout the day to familiarize faculty and administrators with the system.  The training schedule is attached.  Shortly after February 1, faculty will be able to log in and begin uploading their review documents into Interfolio.  As per the collective bargaining agreement, all review documents need to be uploaded by March 1 for departmental review.  Phil Teixeira, the Lead Information Technologist who has assisted with the legacy electronic review system using Adobe Acrobat Professional and Sakai, will be available to assist individuals who feel they need additional instruction on using the system beyond the training sessions.  Phil is also creating short videos that will be posted soon on the Office of the Provost website for additional support, and will continue to provide RPT technical support for faculty and administration on campus.  Interfolio also provides technical support to users through its Scholars Services team through phone call and/or email.

Tenure-track, clinical, and research faculty will upload materials for annual review in the 2019-2020 academic year, and conduct reviews of Lecturers, Senior Lecturers, and Teaching Professors, as applicable, this Spring 2019.  Faculty will also be provided with an Interfolio dossier to begin uploading teaching, research, service, and other professional materials into the dossier to be used for a variety of professional purposes (i.e., for RPT, academic program review, expertise database for research collaborations, media outreach, etc.).

We encourage feedback on your experiences so that we can address issues and make improvements.  We appreciate your patience and support as we roll out this new system!
