Controlled Substances in Research

The use of controlled substances in research at the University of Rhode Island requires complying with state and federal regulations including Rhode Island State Board of Pharmacy licensing and the federal Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration.  The Office of Research Integrity (ORI) has developed a policy and manual that outlines roles and responsibilities and is prepared to assist researchers in meeting the requirements for obtaining, using, storing, securing and disposing of controlled substances.
