Strategies for publishing your research

EPSCoR luncheon presents an insider’s view

Maximizing research impact is important for all scholars. At a special Rhode Island NSF EPSCoR luncheon April 7, Dr. Bodo Stern, a former scientific editor for Cell, will present an insider’s view of the scientific publication process and key strategies to build successful relationships with editors.

Today, Dr.  Stern serves as Director of Research Affairs at Harvard University’s FAS Center for Systems Biology.

The event will be held 12-2 p. m. at The University Club, 95 Upper College Road, on the University of Rhode Island Kingston campus.

The April 7 luncheon builds on the promise and proud tradition of the ADVANCE project, a program funded from 2003-2009 by the National Science Foundation designed to improve and enrich the academic science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) workforce at the University of Rhode Island.

Rhode Island STEM faculty, staff and graduate students interested in learning about science journal publication strategies are welcome to attend. Lunch will be served. RSVP by March 31, 2014 to: Lori Paliotti, Center for Human Services, lpaliotti@uri.edu

Rhode Island NSF EPSCoR seeks to broaden and diversify the fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) by providing opportunities for professional development.
