Last May, the National Science Foundation’s Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR) announced two new funding programs, E-CORE and E-RISE, that will dynamically develop research communities and build fundamental research capacity and competitiveness in states like Rhode Island that have historically received less research funding from the Foundation.
To support all of the state’s research communities in taking full advantage of these opportunities, Rhode Island NSF EPSCoR will be holding a series of discussions this Spring to identify strengths, gaps and future directions for research and broader impacts work. Details about the state’s initial E-CORE and E-RISE submissions will be discussed, as well as opportunities for near future collaborations.
Upcoming Sessions
Transitioning from Track-1 to E-CORE and E-RISE (Friday, April 5, 9:30am-3pm, Galanti Lounge, 3rd Floor of Robert L. Carothers Library, URI) Leaders from the state’s research communities will learn about NSF EPSCoR’s new funding schemes, as well as URI’s recently submitted E-CORE and E-RISE proposals. The morning session will focus on how senior administrators and staff can understand the ways in which E-CORE/E-RISE proposals may or may not function within their institutions. The afternoon session will help attending faculty think about their role in the pre- and post-award process.A Q&A period will follow. Read Agenda
