    Undergraduate Student Information – University College (UC)
    The University College serves as the academic home to all first and second year students transfer students and any student who is undeclared after two yers.The UC continues to support students throughout their college career through many programs offering academic support services.

    Academic Advising
    Faculty members from all majors within the University serve as advisors because they have a special interest in helping you make the appropriate choices. Students are either assigned to or may choose a University College advisor by preferred major.

    e-Campus brings dozens of student and administration online services together in one area and is completely web-enabled. By simply using your web-browser and clicking through web pages, faculty, staff and students of the University are able to quickly and easily access many online functions formerly conducted through manual processes or one of the many other automated systems formerly maintained by the University.

    The Honors Program at the University of Rhode Island offers learning enrichment opportunities that broaden and enhance your undergraduate educational experience. The Program features small classes with outstanding faculty, a nationally renowned honors colloquium, national scholarship advising, and in-depth study and research with faculty mentors.

    Academic Enhancement Center
    At the Academic Enhancement Center, we support academic achievement for all URI students. Our trained staff of peer tutors, supplemental instruction leaders, and learning specialists combine subject area expertise with an understanding of the demands of university life to provide an approach to academic learning that is supportive, challenging, and fun.

    Computer Facilities
    There are multiple computing facilities located on the URI Kingston Campus which are available to students and instructors.

    Counseling Center
    The URI Counseling Center provides services to enhance the personal, academic, emotional, social, and life planning effectiveness of students. These services may include crisis intervention, individual counseling, group counseling, referrals for psychiatric assessment, and mental health screening.

    Disability Services
    Disability Services for Students works with students and all units of URI to foster an inclusive and accessible environment, support academic success and self-advocacy, and promote ADA compliance.

    Study Abroad
    The University of Rhode Island (URI) offers its students the opportunity to study in more than 200 affiliated study abroad programs in over 40 different countries.

    Talent Development Program
    Special Programs for Talent Development at URI was founded in 1968. As a response to the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, URI decided to provide a special opportunity to students of color and students from disadvantaged backgrounds to attend the University. From a first class of thirteen students in 1968, Talent Development has grown to over seven-hundred strong.

    Sakai
    Sakai is a secure, password-protected, Web-based Course Tools system that can be used anytime, anywhere. It has built-in tools such as course material publishing, syllabus, discussion board, chat, quiz, and gradebook that facilitate teaching and learning in a more dynamic fashion.

    Writing Center
    The URI Writing Center is open and free to all members of the University of Rhode Island community and is available to all writers, all levels, all disciplines — at all stages of writing! Any student may bring any piece of writing at any stage to the Writing Center for feedback for free.
