Meet Outstanding URI Student and Scholarship Recipient Genesis Santos ‘17

Talent Development’s Genesis Santos ’17 is a recent recipient of the Chester H. Kirk Memorial Endowed Scholarship and the Ruth and Morton Grossman Endowment Fund, and has future plans to become a nurse practitioner. Genesis, a Providence native, has various roles on campus some of which include orientation leader, a URI 101 mentor, peer educator at the Women’s Center, program assistant at Roosevelt Hall all the while maintaining her status as a nursing student.

Genesis states, “If you are not afraid of what is ahead, you are not paying attention,” she said. “If you are not terrified of what’s to come than you are not passionate about your future. You must take things one step at a time and do things at your own pace. No matter how long it will take you, you can succeed at everything you do.”
