Faculty Development is part of the Office for the Advancement of Teaching & Learning (ATL). We help faculty create high quality learning experiences and adapt evidence-based teaching strategies to enhance student learning.

    Come mix and mingle with other new faculty and explore the Narragansett Bay Campus. James Campbell from Providence College will discuss work life balance for academics. This evening will be the first of several events for new faculty in the coming months.

    High Impact Teaching Seminars

    The High Impact Teaching Seminar is a seven-session seminar offered each semester and over the summer that covers evidence-based strategies for teaching and learning.

    ATL Conversations are designed to ignite interest and discussion among faculty and staff from across campus about teaching and learning. For each conversation, URI faculty and staff are invited to share their experiences around an innovative approach to teaching and learning.

    Active Learning Classroom Certification

    ATL offers a series of workshops to prepare faculty to teach in the Active Learning Classroom.
