My goal is to provide significant learning experiences that will prepare students to be active learners, critical thinkers, and more effective decision-makers.
I love the fact that knowledge about effective marketing and our understanding of consumers are constantly evolving. On the other hand, the abilities to learn, think critically and make decisions effectively are crucial to their personal and professional development, regardless of future marketplace changes or chosen career paths.
Students are encouraged to develop their own ideas about how concepts can be applied and are given instruction on how to use available resources to evaluate and, if appropriate, support their ideas and conclusions. Through practice, my hope is that even if students forget the details that are sometimes reinforced in popular texts – how a concept is defined or who came up with a theory – they will be prepared to apply the concepts to future, unknown circumstances.
