IDEA’s primary measure of teaching effectiveness is progress on relevant objectives.
To produce meaningful results, instructors or departments need to select relevant learning objectives that are significant component of the course. Instructors or departments are asked to identify objectives that are essential, important, and minor. Those rates as essential depends counts twice as much as important objectives in the calculation of progress on relevant objectives.
