Within the 2,300 acres at the W. Alton Jones Campus of URI there is a special trail with a destination. The Sunrise Trail.
It was created by Andrew Heavey, Troop 39 Boy Scout. He developed this trail as his Eagle Scout Project. This trail takes approximately 15 minutes to hike to the top. When you arrive at the end of the trail you can relax on the wooden bench and enjoy panoramic views of our 2,300 acres of forests. If you hike it before dawn, you will see the sun rise over the trees.
No matter what time of the day you choose to hike it, you will enjoy the trail’s beauty and nature along the way. Bring your camera and capture images that you will always treasure.
