Earn $100 to Host a Club Public Speaking Contest<\/h2>

Club leaders who complete and score 100% (unlimited attempts) on the new online public presentations training will be eligible for a $100 Walmart gift card to help run a club-level contest. This is a great way to prepare for the state public speaking contest in the fall AND to get extra public speaking credit for your record book! <\/p><\/div><\/div>

Ticket Request: Canine Champions for Conservation Dog Show<\/h2>

The Canine Champions for Conservation dog show is a travelling agility show that features exciting tricks and training! This summer, the show is coming to the Roger Williams Park Zoo. Get your zoo tickets to attend the show at 11am on Sunday, July 19th. After the show, get a chance to speak with the performers and ask questions!

4-H Water Week: Aquaculture & Marine Science<\/h2>

Gather at Gull Cove (Portsmouth) on Wednesday, July 15 for a day of beach fun and learning. We’ll go out on a fishing barge, catch fish along the shore, identify creatures, and learn about how you can make a career out of it all!<\/p><\/div><\/div>

Summer Fairs 2026<\/h2>

Each summer 4-H Volunteers and outside organizations partner to produce summer fair opportunities for youth. In June the Southern RI 4-H Fair, in August the Eastern RI 4-H Fair and the Washington County Fair and in September 4-H activities at the Big E. All are great experiences and offer a variety of ways to participate. Information is constantly updated on the fair websites and social media sites. You can navigate to them on the link below. Some of the guidelines have already been updated. Check back often.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

4-H Water Week: Water Science & Engineering<\/h2>

Visit the URI Kingston campus on Friday, July 17 for a morning of hands-on water science activities (and cool engineering kits you can take home!) led by URI faculty and students. Enjoy lunch in one of the campus dining halls and finish the day with a refreshing dip in the URI pool!<\/p><\/div><\/div>

4-H Animal Deadlines<\/h2>

Tis the season where youth are finalizing what animals they will use for the 4-H show season. Animals can be bought or borrowed (managed). In either case their are deadlines that are species specific. NEW this year, (really just formalized this year), youth with Rabbit and Poultry projects should also fill out the animal management form, especially if they intend to show at the New 4-H Poultry and Rabbit shows at the Big E. Check out this form to see, when the deadlines are and get the form in on time to the RI 4-H Office. They can be scanned and emailed to kstone@uri.edu.<\/p><\/div><\/div>
