Electrical engineering lies at the heart of modern science. Electrical engineers develop the circuits that form the basis of computer and communication systems and provide the controls for large-scale systems. Our students are introduced to a wide range of applications from electronics and device fabrication, to computers, to control and communication, to electromagnetics and optics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Major Entry Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

 Students Entering in 2026:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  • Complete at least 24 units and have an overall GPA of at least 2.00.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Complete the following courses with a GPA of 2.00 for the set and earn at least a C- in each course: CHM 101\/102; MTH 141, 142; PHY 203\/273; and either PHY 204\/274 or CHM 112\/114.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Students Following Catalog Year 2025 or Earlier:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
      \n
