Our nationally recognized program is a leader in ocean instrumentation and robotics, underwater acoustics, marine hydrodynamics and tsunamis, coastal modeling, marine geomechanics, coastal and offshore structures, and offshore power generation. Our students balance rigorous fundamental courses with practical laboratory and field experience utilizing our coastal location, a 100-foot wave tank, an acoustic tank and a 42-foot research vessel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 Students Entering in 2026:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

  • Complete at least 24 units and have an overall GPA of at least 2.00.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Complete the following courses with a GPA of 2.00 for the set and earn at least a C- in each course: CHM 101\/102; MTH 141, 142; PHY 203\/273; and either PHY 204\/274 or CHM 112\/114.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Students Following Catalog Year 2025 or Earlier:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
