In them, students will learn to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Applies knowledge of artistic materials, processes, and formal visual elements.<\/li>\n<li>Analyze major works of art and architecture and their formal visual properties.<\/li>\n<li>Evaluate cultural and historical contexts in which works of art are made.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>300-level<\/strong> courses explore different artistic movements and periods in greater detail. The above skills are reinforced alongside those to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Assess key issues in the history of art and architecture through written and oral communication skills.<\/li>\n<li>Develop discipline specific research in the history of art and architecture.<\/li>\n<li>Create an interpretative project based on a synthesis of visual, cultural, and historical material.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>400-level<\/strong> courses are our capstone courses, which are more thematic explorations of art and architecture.
