Biography

As communications coordinator, Kevin promotes the work of faculty, students and alumni from Arts and Sciences and CELS to audiences on campus, across Rhode Island and around the world. He specializes in telling reputation-defining stories through the web and social media, as well as through strategic engagement with external news media and community partners.

Kevin comes to URI with more than 15 years of experience in higher education communications and media relations. Most recently, he worked for a decade as the senior writer for the physical sciences in Brown University’s Office of University Communications. Before Brown, he was the publicity manager for the University of Chicago Press Journals Division, where he promoted research and scholarship in 52 academic journals spanning visual arts to economics to ecology. Before that, he was an account executive at Dick Jones Communications, a public relations firm that specialized in national media relations for colleges and universities.
