Brendan Mark<\/h2>\n

Assistant Professor of Political Science and Director of the Center for Nonviolence and Peace Studies
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Brendan Skip Mark joined the URI political science department in 2018. His research explores the intersections between human rights, political economy, collective dissent, and empirical methodology. He tries to unpack the determinants and consequences of: compliance with International Organization agreements, repression, labor rights, violent and non-violent protest, migration and remittances, development, economic crisis, and economic and social rights.<\/p>\n

Meg Frost<\/h2>\n

Assistant Professor of Political Science and Research Director of the Center for Nonviolence and Peace Studies<\/b><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Meg Frost joined the Political Science department in 2022. Her research examines how governments provide security to their citizens in times of threat and crisis, and how citizens demand accountability when their rights are violated. Meg\u2019s current projects focus on the rights of citizens not protected under law, such as suspected criminals, migrants, and refugees, as well as nonviolent strategies of collective action within countries. <\/span><\/p>\n
