{"id":10307,"date":"2020-09-01T12:29:12","date_gmt":"2020-09-01T16:29:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/artsci\/?p=10307"},"modified":"2020-09-01T12:30:28","modified_gmt":"2020-09-01T16:30:28","slug":"rightfully-hers-on-display-in-uri-library","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/artsci\/news\/rightfully-hers-on-display-in-uri-library\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;Rightfully Hers&#8221; On Display in URI Library"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.archives.gov\/\">National Archives<\/a> celebrates the centennial of woman suffrage with a new exhibit, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/museum.archives.gov\/rightfully-hers\">Rightfully Hers: American Women and the Vote<\/a>, <\/em>which explores the history of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, the women\u2019s suffrage movement, and the relentless struggle of activists throughout U.S. history to secure voting rights for all American women. You can see a pop-up display version in-person during the next two months at URI&#8217;s Carothers Library in front of the AI Lab and classroom 142.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>You can also view an online portion of the National Archives&#8217; exhibit <a style=\"font-size: 20px\" href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/32Io6G4\">here.<\/a> Their 3,000-square-foot exhibit showcases more than 90 items including records, artifacts, and photographs. Highlights include original World War I\u2013era Red Cross Uniforms, a National Woman&#8217;s Party banner, and a collection of political campaign buttons.
