These &#8220;bright radio-loud objects&#8221; are thought to be the result of matter gathered around a supermassive black hole. Drawing on the Third Cambridge Catalog (3C), a compendium of radio-loud objects, Samantha is creating images of these objects based on their radio emissions. Such images could help scientists to better understand these immense and powerful objects.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Faculty Mentor:<\/strong><br \/>\nDouglas Gobeille, teaching professor of physics<\/p>\n<hr>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;One thing that really drew me to physics and astronomy initially was the idea of visualizing things that could normally not be seen.
