At any given time you can check your email and see that the College has sent so much information regarding opportunities URI has to offer and beyond the URI community. Most of the Arts and Sciences buildings have information posted all around it’s hard to miss, you don’t have to seek out there right in your face, you just have to take the chance. We have all the resources for these opportunities as well, from our professors being readily available to having media centers and technology provided for our use.

What accomplishments and/or activities are you most proud of while at URI?
I am most proud of my independent project that I started called “Our Voices” where I received a grant of $2000 from the Dean of Libraries to purchase plays and theatre works about people or color and or written by people of color. There is now a total of 147 in the Carothers library for students to engage in.

What research projects, internships, and/or study abroad programs did you participate in at URI? How did they enhance your education?
I have been able to study abroad twice with URI on a faculty lead program to Peru in March 2019 and Cape Verde in January 2020. Traveling and exploring new cultures is something that is so exciting and important to me, and through these programs I was able to travel to two new continents. The culture I was able to experience I believe has helped me become more of a well rounded person and has helped with my patience that I can apply in all parts of my education and life.

What do you value about your liberal arts education?
Liberal arts education has given me joy and happiness, I hope to continue spreading even after URI. Through my education I am able to be honest and share the truth I see around me. I feel as if I can take chances and explore life and the meaning of it through a liberal arts education.

Anything else you’d like to share about yourself?
I hope to continue my career as an actress, and help in changing the world, to inspire others to seek their happiness.

Theatre and Communication Studies

“I am most proud of my independent project that I started called “Our Voices” where I received a $2,000 grant from the Dean of Libraries to purchase plays and theatre works about people or color and or written by people of color.”

[308
37,118
post-8832","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-class-of-2020","tag-communication-studies","tag-theatre
["GET
