{"id":8997,"date":"2020-02-27T12:58:22","date_gmt":"2020-02-27T17:58:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/artsci\/?p=8997"},"modified":"2020-02-27T13:04:48","modified_gmt":"2020-02-27T18:04:48","slug":"feminist-struggles-in-a-u-s-colony-women-community-and-activism-in-puerto-rico","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/artsci\/diversity\/feminist-struggles-in-a-u-s-colony-women-community-and-activism-in-puerto-rico\/","title":{"rendered":"Feminist Struggles in a U.S. Colony: Women, Community, and Activism in Puerto Rico"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This event, a conversation with&nbsp;<em>La Colectiva Feminista, <\/em>will be held on Thursday, March 26 from 11am-12:15pm in Edwards Auditorium.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Known as <em>La Cole<\/em>, this collective is a Black feminist political organization founded by university students in Puerto Rico in 2013.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Since its founding <em>La Cole<\/em> has been a presence in the Puerto Rican social and political spheres advocating for gender justice and the rights of vulnerable populations.
