Biography

Izabela Ciesielska-Wrobel is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Textiles, Fashion Merchandising and Design (TMD) at the URI. She earned her B.Sc, M.Sc., and Ph.D. in textile technology and textile manufacturing. Her Ph.D. dissertation concerned measuring the level of thermophysiological and ergonomic wear comfort in users of textiles. She taught different textiles-related classes, mainly in Poland, Belgium, France, Spain, and the United States at North Carolina State University, Wilson College of Textiles (lecture invitation from Dr. Alex Hummel). When she was doing her post-doc at Textile Protection and Comfort Center (T-PACC), she measured the influence of uniforms on firefighters’ comfort and performance. After completing her post-doc, she returned to Belgium to continue her work at Ghent University as a post-doctoral senior researcher. She worked as a Peer Reviewer for the 2022 program reporting cycle.
