This program is designed to give faculty members the opportunity to serve in a leadership role, working collaboratively with ATL staff, to both advance their professional development and support the advancement of faculty and graduate student instructors across the university.<br><br>Faculty Leaders will serve for 2 years, devoting a portion of their time to working with faculty, graduate student instructors, and ATL staff developing professional development resources and delivering workshops within the context of a project scope that aligns with their area of expertise. The Faculty Leaders are eligible for an academic year stipend and additional remuneration is also provided to the selected faculty member\u2019s home department and\/or college to cover up to 2 per course instructors per year, as needed, to support a decreased teaching load during the appointment period.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:33%\">\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n<section class=\"cl-wrapper cl-boxout-wrapper\"><div class=\"cl-boxout  \"><h1>About the ATL<\/h1>\n<a class=\"cl-button  block-level prominent\" href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/atl\/about\/\" title=\"\">ATL Mission &amp; Learning (ATL). As ATL focuses more on providing relevant and robust professional development experiences for URI graduate students who teach in their respective academic departments, it is imperative to our goals to increase the voice of faculty within the work that we create and offer to members of the campus community. The selected faculty member would be responsible for working with staff members across ATL, but specifically with colleagues on our Faculty Development team. Together, the URI faculty member in this role would be supported to facilitate workshops and seminars (both in-person and\/or online), as well as author teaching related resources, that focus on preparing graduate students to teach effectively, develop their own teaching philosophies, and incorporate an inclusive approach within their teaching strategies that foster effective and equitable learning for all URI students. <\/p>\n\n<\/section>\n\n<section class=\"cl-tab \"><h1>Inclusive Teaching and Accessibility<\/h1>\n\n<p>The faculty member in this role will assist in developing, leading, and facilitating ATL\u2019s efforts to advance effective and modern strategies for equipping and empowering URI faculty to develop inclusive classroom environments, antiracist pedagogy, as well as accessible and equitable frameworks for teaching and learning that benefit all URI students. As ATL seeks to provide more opportunities for faculty to connect, learn, and teach using inclusive and accessible approaches to teaching and learning, it is imperative to our goals to increase the voice of faculty within the work that we create and offer to members of the campus community. The selected faculty member would be responsible for working with staff members across ATL, but specifically members of our Faculty Development team. Together, the URI faculty member in this role would be supported to facilitate workshops and seminars (both in-person and\/or online), as well as author teaching related resources that focus on engaging and equipping all members of the URI instructional community in the work of celebrating differences, implementing equitable teaching and learning practices, fostering a growth mindset, and seeking the success of all students that they teach. <\/p>\n\n<\/section>\n\n<section class=\"cl-tab \"><h1>Student Learning Outcomes, Assessment, and Accreditation <\/h1>\n\n<p>The faculty member in this role will assist in developing, supporting, and facilitating ATL\u2019s efforts to advance effective and modern strategies for equipping and empowering URI faculty with best practices for implementing, strengthening, and evaluating the use of student learning outcomes in courses, departments, and colleges across URI. As ATL seeks to provide more opportunities for faculty to embrace the power of assessment and consider the importance of self-reflection in evidencing the impact and evolution of their own teaching practice, this opportunity is imperative to our goal to increase the voice of faculty in developing resources to offer to members of the campus community. The selected faculty member would be responsible for working with staff members across ATL, but specifically members of our Student Learning Outcomes, Assessment, and Accreditation team. Together, the URI faculty member in this role would be supported to facilitate workshops (both in-person and\/or online), professional development experiences, as well as author web-based resources that focus on equipping and positioning all members of the URI instructional community to harness the power of assessment for their professional growth, and consider the many ways in which both traditional and alternative assessments provide guidance for improved teaching and effective student learning over time. <\/p>\n\n<\/section>\n\n<section class=\"cl-tab \"><h1>Blended Teaching<\/h1>\n\n<p>The faculty member in this role develops, leads, and facilitates Office for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning efforts to advance effective and modern strategies for equipping and empowering URI faculty engaged in blended teaching and hybrid pedagogy. As ATL focuses on providing consistent and enhanced support for faculty teaching in blended and hybrid modalities, it is imperative to our goals to increase the voice of faculty within this space, develop a network of URI instructors who teach using blended pedagogy, and create relevant professional development experiences for the campus community. The selected faculty member works specifically with colleagues on the Faculty Development team within ATL, and the Online Learning and Instructional Design team in URI Online.
