We’re excited to announce that Writing Across URI has joined the Office for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning. This transition strengthens our mission to champion writing excellence throughout the URI community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The focus of our team remains unchanged: fostering a vibrant culture of writing across campus by supporting faculty in their dual roles as writers and educators. We continue to offer retreats, forge strategic partnerships, provide personalized consultations, and facilitate collaborative writing groups that bring together faculty from every discipline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fall In-Person Writing Retreats (ALL)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Writing Across URI (now housed in ATL) invites all URI writers to join our Fall Writing Retreats. Keep the momentum going on your academic article, grant proposal, or creative project! There\u2019s no formal program: just bring your laptop and other materials, plus your own lunch\/snacks. We will provide coffee and tea! The Fall retreats will be held on Friday, September 25th from 9 AM – 3 PM and Friday, October 23rd from 9 AM \u2013 3 PM.<\/strong> Come to one or both and join for an hour or stay all day! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The retreats will be held in the Large Conference Room of the Coastal Institute overlooking Narragansett Bay (for directions and a map to the Bay Campus)<\/a>. The Coastal Institute is Building #6 on the map (you can park in the lot shaded in blue directly in front of the building). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All are welcome! You will simply be asked, in confidence, to check in with a brief statement of your writing goal and to check out with a brief statement of what you accomplished.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Half-day Virtual Writing Retreats (ALL)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Writing Across URI invites all writers to join our Fall semester mini-Writing Retreats. Keep the momentum going on your academic article, grant proposal, or creative project! Or knock out some grading! There\u2019s no facilitated program: just log in, say hello, maybe enter your goal into a spreadsheet, and begin working. All are welcome! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You are welcome to attend any part of any 3-hour session or all of them!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dates: October 9th, November 9th, & December 7th
Times: Oct. 9th from 12:00pm – 3:00pm; Nov. 9th from 9:00am – 12:00pm; Dec. 7th from 9:00am – 12:00pm
