The procedures and criteria are similar to those of the URI Foundation\u2019s teaching excellence award. Part-time (i.e. per course) faculty who have taught at least one (3+ credit) course since July 1, 2023 are eligible for nomination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have any questions about someone\u2019s eligibility, please contact me at mbodah@uri.edu. The winner will receive a $1,000 cash prize, have their name added to the plaque of award winners, and be honored at a reception in May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you would like to nominate a part-time faculty member, please send a letter of nomination to the Office of the Provost by 5:00 pm on Friday, March 1, 2024. Nominations should be sent to Lou Ann Diomandes at ldiomandes@uri.edu. Please put \u201cPTF Teaching Excellence Award\u201d in the subject line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>We ask that letters of nomination describe both the quantity and quality of the part-time faculty member\u2019s teaching.<\/li><li>Please discuss the types of courses, including size and level, of the part-time faculty member\u2019s courses.<\/li><li>Discuss the impact that the part-time faculty member has had on students and on the department\u2019s ability to deliver a high-quality curriculum.
