Crawford<\/a>, Graduate Student in the College of Business (Finance specialization), is ATL&#8217;s March 2024 Graduate Student Spotlight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is one piece of teaching advice that you have received that you would like to pass on to others?<\/strong><br>&#8220;Meet your students where they are.&#8221; The goal is not only to impart knowledge but to inspire and facilitate meaningful learning experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What are the three qualities that you think make a great teacher?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><em>Adaptability:<\/em> In a rapidly changing world, it is important to understand each student&#8217;s unique background, abilities, and learning styles. By doing so, one can tailor teaching strategies to better engage and support them, fostering a more inclusive and effective learning environment.<\/li><li><em>Integrity:<\/em> Teaching is the highest form of leadership, so therefore we should lead by example. Leaders who demonstrate integrity earn the trust and respect of their students.<\/li><li><em>Vision:<\/em> A clear and compelling vision for the future. This provides a sense of purpose and direction. A great teacher is always inspiring others to aim higher and work together towards common goals, driving innovation and change.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What are you excited to do next in the classroom?<\/strong><br>I am eager to incorporate case studies and group projects into the curriculum. I believe these methodologies will not only foster a collaborative learning environment but also enable students to apply theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios, thereby enriching their academic and professional skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What do you hope students look back on in ten years and say about your classes?<\/strong><br>I hope they look back and say they remember my classes being transformative and that I created an environment where curiosity was encouraged, and mistakes were seen as opportunities for growth. I hope they mention it wasn&#8217;t just about the grades, but about understanding the world in a deeper way. I hope my students will say they felt genuinely cared for and are inspired to pursue their goals with confidence and resilience.<br><br><strong>How do you envision incorporating teaching into your future career?<\/strong><br>As someone who is both an educator and a mother, I teach as part of my daily life. I have a goal of including global teaching experiences in my future career path. I believe that teaching in diverse cultures and settings will enhance my professional journey and increase my capacity to impact different students positively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is your favorite place to visit in Rhode Island? Why?<\/strong><br>I love to visit Scarborough State Beach for long walks and jogging. I like it because it is on the beach, typically quiet, and the people there are very friendly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What do you like to do for fun?<\/strong><br>I love to cook, sing, and dance.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Patricia N.
