Fiona worked on finding specialist\u00a0bees and other rare bee species around the state. She assisted in data collection for a checklist of bee species in Rhode Island and bumble bee nest monitoring.\u00a0Fiona&#8217;s favorite part of working in the lab was getting to go to unique sites across Rhode Island and seeing all the different kinds of ecosystems. She mostly focused on the&nbsp;<em>Bombus fervidus<\/em>&nbsp;conservation project, but also helped monitor bumble bee nest boxes, survey for specialist bees, and assisted with other projects around the lab. She contributed to multiple projects, such as observing honey bee water foraging habits, maintaining and monitoring bumble bee nests, helping with NRCS surveys, and assisting with the <em>Bombus fervidus<\/em> conservation project . She researched cranberry pollination in cultivated and wild bogs, and helped with NRCS bee surveys. Abby\u2019s favorite part of the lab was getting to learn something new every day. Kate most enjoyed looking for megachilid bees while surveying. She assisted with a variety of research projects, including Julia Vieira\u2019s clover project, water-collecting behavior of honey bees, and varroa mite management. Her favorite part of working in the lab is catching and holding male bumble bees.
