Insights from our laboratories and field studies about how organisms live, grow, and change in the context of their ecological environment are making contributions to a broad range of areas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Laboratories<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Jannelle Couret<\/a> is studying the ecology of medically important arthropod vectors and the application of this to surveillance and control of vector-borne diseases. Andrew Davies<\/a> studies the ecology of temperate reef systems including long-term monitoring and impacts of marine plastic pollution. Serena Moseman-Valtierra<\/a> uses field-based tools to investigate human impacts on carbon and nitrogen cycles of coastal wetlands. Evan Preisser<\/a> works on predator-prey and herbivore-plant interactions with applications toward invasive species management, native species restoration and pest control on organic farms. Brad Wetherbee<\/a> studies the role of fishes in marine ecosystems at physiological, population, community, ecological levels, and develops applications towards wise use of marine resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
