URI placed second in the National Peer to Peer: Challenging Extremism initiative

Students enrolled in BUS 475: Social Media for Marketing took national honors this fall, placing 2nd in the Peer to Peer Initiative to counter extremism.

The students earned a $1,000 scholarship for the College of Business.

The students, led by graduating senior Gina Tonno of Vernon, NJ (Marketing and Communications, Vocal Performance), plan to use the $1,000 scholarship as a prize in an essay contest that will help continue to spread their message against hate speech.
