You\u2019ll learn about market research, product development, and sales functions in companies producing fibers, yarns, fabrics, and apparel. This degree prepares you for a variety of career opportunities, including buying and sourcing textile and apparel products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>URI\u2019s library archive of over 40,000 commercial patterns as well as the department\u2019s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/business\/about\/tmd\/collection\/\">Historic Textile and Costume Collection<\/a>&nbsp;of some 20,000 items\u2014one of the best university collections in the country\u2014serve as outstanding resources for hands-on learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Both the B.S. Textiles, Fashion Merchandising and Design and the B.S.
