{"id":44919,"date":"2026-01-05T18:14:26","date_gmt":"2026-01-05T23:14:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/business\/?page_id=44919"},"modified":"2026-01-30T13:57:26","modified_gmt":"2026-01-30T18:57:26","slug":"gmat-waivers-and-awards","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/business\/academics\/graduate\/gmat-waivers-and-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"GMAT Waivers and Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The GMAT\/GRE application requirement will be waived for candidates who meet one of the following criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>URI graduate (any major) with a minimum 3.30 overall GPA<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Graduate from an AACSB-accredited business program with a minimum 3.30 GPA<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have a minimum of five years full-time work experience post-graduation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hold a Masters or Ph.D. degree (any discipline)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hold significant professional certificates such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified, Financial Planner (CFP), Project Management Professional (PMP), and others.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Waivers will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Please contact Lisa Lancellotta at&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:llancellotta@uri.edu\">llancellotta@uri.edu<\/a>&nbsp;with any questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n<section class=\"cl-wrapper cl-boxout-wrapper\"><div class=\"cl-boxout  \"><h1>GMAT Fee Waiver Award<\/h1>\n\n<p>The URI College of Business, through the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), offers 10 GMAT fee waiver scholarships a year for applicants applying to the One-Year MBA, Flexible MBA, or MS Accounting. The waiver code will allow you to take the GMAT for free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Criteria for receiving a GMAT Fee Waiver Award:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Applicants must have completed the MBA\/MSA&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/graduate-school\/apply\/\">application<\/a>&nbsp;(other than the GMAT score)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Minimum GPA of 3.0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Completion of the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/7pZrweX8zTjbtUek7\">GMAT Fee Waiver Award Form<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<\/div><\/section>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The GMAT\/GRE application requirement will be waived for candidates who meet one of the following criteria: Waivers will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
