Your TMD internship will likely happen in your junior or senior year, after you\u2019ve gained some background knowledge from coursework. For more details, review the <a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/business\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2295\/TMD-461-2-Syllabus.pdf\">TMD 461\/2 course syllabus<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:33.33%\"><a class=\"cl-button  block-level prominent\" href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/business\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2295\/Internship-Contract-COB2.pdf\" title=\"\">Internship contract<\/a>\n\n<a class=\"cl-button  block-level prominent\" href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/business\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2295\/Internship-Learning-Contract-COB-2.pdf\" title=\"\">Internship learning contract<\/a>\n\n<a class=\"cl-button  block-level prominent\" href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/business\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2295\/TMD_internship_evaluation.pdf\" title=\"\">Internship evaluation<\/a>\n\n<a class=\"cl-button   prominent\" href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/business\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2295\/TMD-461-2-Syllabus.pdf\" title=\"\">tmd 461\/2 syllabus<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Process<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Find a placement site and a faculty supervisor by following these steps:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Identify a placement site on your own, through announcements on the TMD Hub site on Brightspace\u00a0or via\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/uri.joinhandshake.com\/login\">Handshake.<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contact a faculty member in your area of specialization (see list below) and ask if<br>they would be willing to serve as your faculty supervisor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete the Internship Application Form<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You and your site supervisor fill out and sign the Internship Contract (a guide and liability check for the employer)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fill out the Internship Learning Contract (which details your duties, hours, responsibilities, number of credits, and how you will be graded for the experience). You should also speak with your academic advisor about the number of credits that you should earn for the internship.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Register for the course. You will need a permission number from the instructor to register for TMD 461 and\/or TMD 462, the course codes for internships. Consult the faculty areas of specialization below in making your choice.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note: these details have to be in place before you start to earn credit for your internship.
