Our Leadership in Sports Management Graduate Certificate gives professionals and emerging leaders the strategic, leadership, and communication skills needed to succeed in one of the world\u2019s most dynamic industries. In just 12 credits, students learn how to lead teams, create exceptional fan and participant experiences, navigate the business of sports, and drive organizational performance in collegiate athletics, professional sports, recreation, and related industries. Grounded in real-world application and industry trends, the program helps students strengthen their leadership presence while building expertise in the evolving sports marketplace. Through a flexible format where courses are available online, in person, or students can flex between formats, this certificate blends core leadership development with sports-specific business skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students will explore sport as a dynamic venue for social equity, brand-building, revenue generation, and community partnership, while strengthening their capacity to lead diverse teams, shape culture, and drive organizational transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On completion, graduates will be prepared to apply leadership strategies, ethically navigate sport management challenges, and promote inclusive and sustainable sports organizations at the local, national or global level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Program Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Students must complete all required courses and one elective course from the approved list below.<br><strong>Required Courses (9 credits):<\/strong><br>BUS532 &#8211; Leadership<br>BUS582 &#8211; Global Sporting Events Management<br>BUS570 &#8211; Sports Marketing<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Elective Courses (choose at least one, 3 credits):<\/strong><br>BUS506 &#8211; Operations and Project Management<br>BUS509 &#8211; Law and Ethics<br>BUS515 &#8211; Innovation and Entrepreneurship Practicum<br>BUS577 &#8211; Sports Analytics<br>EDC560 &#8211; Group Procedures and Leadership<br>EDC 576 &#8211; Diversity and Cultural Competence in Student Affairs<br>MBA524 &#8211; Entrepreneurship and Innovation<br>MBA593 &#8211; Business Internship<br><em>Other course with director approval<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Admission Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A Bachelor\u2019s degree in any field will be considered for admission.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table is-style-regular\"><table><thead><tr><th>Fall Deadline<\/th><th>Spring Deadline<\/th><th>Summer Deadline<\/th><\/tr><\/thead><tbody><tr><td>July 15<\/td><td>Nov. 15<\/td><td>April 15<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Your overall GPA will be considered, however, we will also look at your performance in courses most clearly related in subject manner to courses in our program and for students with undergraduate GPA &lt;3.0 we will give more weight to work experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applicants must upload their unofficial transcripts.
