While engaged in the supportive environment of experiential learning you can test career goals, enhance professional skills, develop self-reliance, self-esteem, and responsibility. Furthermore, experiential opportunities encourage networking with professionals and will provide increased marketability for employment after graduation.<\/p>\n<p>KIN 484 is a <strong>required<\/strong> course for all <strong>Exercise Science<\/strong> majors.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"step-container\">\n<h3>KIN 484: Supervised Field Work<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2.5 cumulative GPA or higher<\/li>\n<li>Junior\/Senior standing<\/li>\n<li>Must have earned at least 84 credits that count towards degree progress<\/li>\n<li>Must provide proof of CPR certification by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Prerequisite Courses<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prerequisites: KIN 275, KIN 300, KIN 301, KIN 325, KIN 370, BIO 121, CHM 103<\/li>\n<li>Additional prerequisites for cardiac rehabilitation internship: KIN 420<\/li>\n<li>Additional prerequisite for Exercise Science only: CHM 124\/126<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Logistics <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>KIN 484: 12 Credits (32 hours per week during the fall\/spring, 40 hours per week in the summer)<\/li>\n<li>Graded<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Contact<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Courtney Mackey Wilbur<br \/>\n<a href=\"mailto:mackey@uri.edu\">mackey@uri.edu<\/a><br \/>\n401.874.2063<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Participating in an internship is a great way to put classroom learning into practical experience.
