The experts at the <a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/child-development-centers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">URI Child Development Centers<\/a> have put together a tip sheet on how to stay in touch with children and families.<\/p>\n<p><u>Quick tips for continued engagement with children and families<\/u>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Create a family communication and engagement plan specific to this stretch of time. <\/strong>Determine which types of communication will be used, how often, and who is responsible.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Build and sharpen your digital communication skills.<\/strong> Take online training and practice with peers.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Check in with each family individually<\/strong>. This can be a phone call, email, video chat, etc.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Create video content to share.<\/strong> Read a book, sing a song or lead a group time. Share tips for parents.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Offer a platform for children to share with each other<\/strong>. Consider using google meets, etc.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Provide parent support. <\/strong>Host Q&amp;A sessions. Share educational resources and community supports.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Share activity ideas aligned with early learning standards<\/strong>.
