The URI Sailing team has a strong tradition of competitive excellence and a rich history of alumni that includes several Olympians and 26 All-Americans. The team competes in the New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association (NEISA) and sails out of the URI Sailing Center in Wakefield, RI. Join Us! Live From the Volvo Ocean Race
March 20, 2018 • 7 p.m. Edwards Auditorium, Kingston Campus
Current team members will join us via live video from the South Pacific Ocean, between stops in New Zealand and Brazil. Sail Newport’s Brad Read will emcee, and former ocean race team members will be in the house to provide commentary.
The Volvo Ocean Race is a grueling, round-the-world sailing race that tests the endurance of the world’s best sailors. The sailors and race boats will make 10 stops during their course, but their only North America stop will be in Newport in May.
