Our nutrition education efforts are delivered across the state, but mostly in the core cities of Providence, Pawtucket, Central Falls, and Woonsocket. Let&#8217;s learn more!<\/p>\n<p><b>Direct Education<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Throughout Rhode Island we offer nutrition education workshops. The workshops focus on culturally-relevant healthy eating and physical activity within a limited budget.<\/p>\n<p><b>Community Partners<\/b><\/p>\n<p>We work with community partners to help create sustainable <b>policy, system and environmental (PSE) <\/b>changes to complement nutrition education and support healthy behaviors.<\/p>\n<p><b>Helpful Resources<\/b><\/p>\n<p>To extend the reach and learning, our website and social media platforms provide recipes, handouts, videos and other free resources that can be accessed and shared by anyone. We provide workshops, recipes, handouts and videos in English and Spanish (and currently developing into Portuguese).<\/p>\n<h1>Our Programs<\/h1>\n<div class=\"cl-tiles thirds\">\n<div><div class=\"cl-wrapper cl-card-wrapper\"><a class=\"cl-card  \" href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/community-nutrition\/snaped\/\" title=\"\"><div class=\"cl-card-container media\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/community-nutrition\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1241\/snap-ed-program-2024.jpg\" srcset=\"\" alt=\"snap-ed-program-2024\"><\/div><div class=\"cl-card-container text\"><div class=\"cl-card-text\"><h2>SNAP-Ed<\/h2><p>SNAP-Ed brings <strong>easy-to-understand nutrition information<\/strong> directly to sites where youth, families, adults and older adults live, learn, eat, shop, work and play. SNAP-Ed provides one-time workshops or a series of workshops to our community participants in English or Spanish. Programming focuses on general nutrition topics and healthy eating on a budget. The workshops are hands-on and often include cooking demonstrations and recipe tastings. SNAP-Ed also works with community partners on policy, system and environmental (PSE) efforts, including professional development training and train-the-trainer curriculum opportunities. Lastly, SNAP-Ed creates recipes, handouts and videos to help spread nutrition information and resources to anyone. <\/p><\/div><\/div><div class=\"cl-card-container button\">Learn More<\/div><\/a><\/div><\/div>\n<div><div class=\"cl-wrapper cl-card-wrapper\"><a class=\"cl-card  \" href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/community-nutrition\/efnep\/\" title=\"\"><div class=\"cl-card-container media\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/community-nutrition\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1241\/efnep-program-2024.jpg\" srcset=\"\" alt=\"efnep-program-2024\"><\/div><div class=\"cl-card-container text\"><div class=\"cl-card-text\"><h2>EFNEP<\/h2><p>EFNEP provides education through <strong>hands-on lessons<\/strong> that are six to nine weeks long. EFNEP reaches middle and high school aged youth as well as parents or caregivers of children under 18 years old. Programming focuses on general nutrition topics, food safety, healthy eating on a budget, and physical activity.
