2018 Student Environmental Educator volunteer position

Do you have an interest and course work in environmental studies? Are you excited about sharing information and leading children’s activities on environmental topics The URI Learning Landscape Field Trip program may be for YOU!

Program Description:

Learning Landscape field trips are held at the URI Botanical Gardens on Upper College Road in Kingston. School-age children from area Rhode Island elementary schools visit URI for a two-hour program to learn about topics including plants, insects, mammals, birds, water pollution and more through hands-on activities. Field trips are led by URI students and URI Master Gardeners. Outdoor activities are held except in inclement weather during which programs are moved to indoor classrooms. A three-hour training is provided in April at the URI Mallon Center at 3 East Alumni Avenue in Kingston. Volunteers are asked to commit to at least one morning per week for the duration of the program, from 9-noon.
