Dr. Stein works closely with the state agency that\u00a0oversees mental health and substance-use disorder programs for the state of Rhode Island, The Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities, &amp; Hospitals (BHDDH). She has secured two graduate research assistantships and paid undergraduate research positions for research work done on the state&#8217;s needs assessment.\u00a0Dr. Stein has also forged a\u00a0<strong>M<\/strong>emorandum\u00a0<strong>o<\/strong>f\u00a0<strong>U<\/strong>nderstanding (MOU) with BHDDH. This MOU provides URI students with the opportunity to participate in\u00a0a service-learning program working directly with BHDDH and its provider organizations. In addition, she also collaborates closely with several certified community\u00a0behavioral health centers\u00a0(CCBHC) and other community behavioral health centers in Rhode Island.
