Change processes are covert and overt activities and experiences that individuals engage in when they attempt to modify problem behaviors. Each process is a broad category encompassing multiple techniques, methods, and interventions traditionally associated with disparate theoretical orientations. Numerous studies have shown that successful self-changers employ different processes at each particular stage of change.<\/p>\n<p>The ten processes of change are\u00a0<em>consciousness raising,\u00a0counterconditioning,\u00a0dramatic relief,environmental reevaluation,\u00a0helping relationships,\u00a0reinforcement management,\u00a0self-liberation,self-reevaluation,\u00a0social-liberation,<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>stimulus control<\/em>.
