CS and technical students enter the ABM directly; students from other majors can prepare through URI\u2019s OnRamp To Cybersecurity bridge program. Both paths are scholarship-eligible. The 2026 CyberAICorps cohort adds an AI Track option for students with AI or CS backgrounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Typically URI Undergraduate students <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/1kSk_LpYY6yHwBzTtz1kNOaaWkxTNJSuLFaiViWAbuQY\/edit?usp=sharing\">apply<\/a> for the <a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/cs\/academics\/cybercorps-scholarship-for-service\/\">CyberCorps scholarship<\/a> in the Spring semester of their Junior year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications \u2014 All Applicants:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Minimum 3.0 GPA<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Completed ABM application in the GradCAS system<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For CS \/ Technical Major Applicants (Direct Entry):<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Grade of B or better in CSC 211 \u2013 Object-Oriented Programming (or higher-level CSC equivalent)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Grade of B or better in CSF 432 \u2013 Introduction to Network Security (or CSF 410 or CSF 430 with advisor approval)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For Non-CS \/ Non-Technical Major Applicants (OnRamp Entry):<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Completion of, or current enrollment in, <a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/cs\/academics\/onramp\/\">URI\u2019s OnRamp To Cybersecurity bridge program<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Grade of B or better in CSF 432 \u2013 Introduction to Network Security (completed as the third OnRamp course)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contact cybersecurity@uri.edu to discuss OnRamp timing relative to your scholarship application<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications will be reviewed, and scholarship recipients selected, by a Committee of faculty and staff in the URI CS Department. The deadline to apply for a CyberCorp Scholarship is in the spring of each year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>The CyberCorp Scholar Course Schedule<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>URI undergraduate students are required to complete <a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/cs\/academics\/accelerated-masters\/\">URI Advanced Bachelor\u2019s Masters (ABM) program in CS\/Cybersecurity<\/a> with scholarship support in their Senior and Graduate years.\u00a0 A CyberCorp scholar typically follows this course schedule (details on courses are available<a href=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/cs\/academics\/professional-masters-cybersecurity\/curriculum\/\"> here<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Note for non-CS students entering via OnRamp:<\/em>\u00a0 If you completed OnRamp before applying, CSF 432 has already been completed and does not need to be repeated. Work with your advisor to substitute an approved elective in the slot where CSF 432 appears in the standard schedule. Your advisor will build a custom schedule based on your OnRamp completion and remaining PSM requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td><b>Prior To Application<\/b><\/td><td><b>Prior to Bachelors<\/b><\/td><td><b>Summer Between Undergraduate and Graduate Years<\/b><\/td><td><b>Graduate Fall<\/b><\/td><td><b>Graduate Spring<\/b><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>CSC 211<br>CSF 432<\/td><td>CSF 430<br>CSF 534<br>CSF 505<\/td><td>CyberCorps Internship<\/td><td>CSF 410<br>CSF 536<br>CSF 560<br>CSF 505<\/td><td>CSF 524<br>CSF 580<br>CSF 590<br>CSF 505<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>CyberAICorps Scholar Schedule (AI Track)&nbsp; [NEW]<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Scholars selected for the AI Track follow the same overall structure but substitute two graduate concentration courses for the AI Track specializations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Graduate Fall \u2014 Replace one standard elective with CSF 470 Applied AI for Cybersecurity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Graduate Spring \u2014 Replace one standard elective with CSF 592 Machine Learning Security<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">General Requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Students must take <i>CSC 211 Object-Oriented Programming<\/i> prior to applying to the SFS program, while <i>CSF 202 System Fundamentals For Cybersecurity<\/i>, and <i>CSF 432 Introduction To Network Security<\/i> are strongly recommended.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CyberCorp scholars must take <i>CSF 534 Advanced Topics In Network and System Security and<\/i> <i>CSF 430 Information Assurance<\/i> while an undergraduate in order to be able to complete the PSM requirements within the one additional graduate year. CSF 432, CSF 430, and CSF 534 may be counted to both the scholar\u2019s undergraduate CS degree and their PSM as part of the ABM program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CyberCorp scholars will get an undergraduate SFS activities experience in their final undergraduate year. They will work with Dr. Fay-Wolfe and the URI Cybersecurity Center faculty and staff on cybersecurity experiential and professional preparedness activities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CyberCorp scholars will do a CyberCorp internship in their first summer (between graduating with their BS and starting their graduate year).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In each of the Fall and Spring semesters of their graduate year, CyberCorp scholars will take a course that is designed specifically for CyberCorp scholars to survey the landscape of government cybersecurity jobs and provide support for students\u2019 upcoming job search process.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information contact:&nbsp; <a href=\"mailto:cybersecurity@uri.edu\">cybersecurity@uri.edu<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CyberCorps\u24c7 Scholarship for URI Undergraduate Students Open to all URI majors.
