{"id":12754,"date":"2019-12-06T14:55:31","date_gmt":"2019-12-06T19:55:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/cs\/?p=12754"},"modified":"2019-12-06T14:57:31","modified_gmt":"2019-12-06T19:57:31","slug":"grace-hopper-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/cs\/grace-hopper-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"Grace Hopper 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-12763 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/web.uri.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1531\/IMG_7378-1-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\"><\/p>\n<p>Selling out in seconds not unlike a rock concert or Red Sox game, The Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing is a no joke conference when it comes to securing a spot !!&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;This Fall the Department of Computer Science &amp; Statistics was fortunate enough to send several women in our program to Orlando to participate in the largest gathering of women in computing.&nbsp;The&nbsp;venue&nbsp;is designed to bring research and career interests of women in computing to the forefront.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;\u201cThe number of strong, smart, confident women attending the conference was almost overwhelming but we had a chance to talk to so many of them, including representatives of many tech companies.\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp;reported Yana Hrytsenko a current PhD student. \u201cIt was truly an inspiring event!
