the next generation of environmental engineers who will lead and innovate solutions to enhance the global quality of life.<br><strong>Mission<\/strong><br>To prepare graduates for successful careers, advanced studies at the graduate level, and lifelong learning based upon a solid foundation of technical ability, high standards of professional ethics, and strong communication skills.<\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong>Program Educational Objectives<\/strong><br>Following graduation from the B.S. in environmental engineering, graduates will:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Practice and actively contribute to the environmental engineering profession in one or more of the technical areas of water and wastewater treatment, air pollution control, environmental chemistry, sustainability, and related environmental systems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Practice environmental engineering with an awareness of and commitment to ethics and social responsibility, sustainability, and diversity both as individuals and in team environments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pursue lifelong learning through graduate education, professional licensure, or advanced training in environmental engineering or related fields.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Student Outcomes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>An ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An ability to acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning
