The Dean of Students<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Dean of Students provides essential leadership in supporting students\u2019 academic and personal success, overseeing crisis response, and coordinating several campus teams. In his role, he fosters a supportive campus environment by collaborating with a variety of units, including Community, Equity and Diversity, Title IX, Housing and Residential Life, and the Counseling Center, to assist with behavioral intervention<\/a>, bias resources<\/a>, and hazing prevention<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Office of Community Standards <\/a>\/ Student Conduct<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This office promotes student accountability and integrity by managing the university’s conduct process and educating students on community expectations. Resources about the student conduct process<\/a>, including the Student Handbook<\/a> and Frequently Asked Questions<\/a>, are available online. Requests for conduct record checks, background checks, or transfer disciplinary reports for current or former students must be submitted online<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commuter Affairs<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Office of Commuter Affairs is dedicated to supporting the development of off-campus and commuter students by providing tools and resources for off-campus living. URI partners with Off-Campus Partners to offer a database of property listings in the immediate area, accessible at offcampus.housing.uri.edu<\/a>. This office serves as a resource for students and landlords, offering guidance on housing options, local laws, and emergency preparedness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Disability, Access, and Inclusion<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Disability, Access, and Inclusion (DAI) ensures equal access to educational opportunities by providing accommodations, support services, and advocacy for students with disabilities. All accommodations require a written request, documentation, and a scheduled meeting with a DAI coordinator. Returning students can schedule appointments via Starfish<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Student Support and Advocacy Services<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Student Support and Advocacy Services (SSAS) office provides assistance to students facing academic, personal, or financial challenges. Services<\/a> include academic support, emergency funds<\/a>, food<\/a> and housing insecurity assistance, bereavement requests<\/a>, and mental health referrals. Faculty and staff can access guidance on identifying and supporting students in distress<\/a>, submitting a Student Care and Concern Report<\/a>, and consulting with SSAS for intervention strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alcohol and Other Drugs Education<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Alcohol and Other Drug Education (AODE) program at URI Health Services provides education, prevention, and intervention services to promote responsible decision-making regarding substance use. The program offers workshops, individual consultations, and online resources to support student well-being. AODE also collaborates with campus partners to foster a healthier campus community through evidence-based initiatives. Students can seek assistance, support groups, the medical amnesty policy, or recovery resources, and explore available services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Greek Affairs \/ Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life<\/a><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Greek Affairs oversees a vibrant community of nearly 30 fraternities and sororities, encompassing over 20% of the undergraduate population. These organizations are founded upon the values of fellowship, leadership, scholarship, and community service. The Fraternity Managers Association (FMA)<\/a> oversees the operations of URI’s 10 sororities, 15 fraternities, and the TI\/IEP Living Learning Community, serving as a resource for students seeking a unique living-learning experience as well as information about billing, room and board, dues collection, scholarships, and job opportunities.<\/p>\n\n<\/section>\n<\/div><\/section>\n\n\n
