Through advocacy, accessibility, student conduct, crisis response, basic needs assistance, and coordinated care, our team works behind the scenes to ensure students remain connected to the resources they need to thrive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"fullwidth wp-block-paragraph\">Our work is grounded in compassionate advocacy, accountability, accessibility, collaboration, and student-centered support, reflecting the University&#8217;s commitment to student success and inclusive excellence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the 2025\u20132026 academic year, the Dean of Students Office:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list fullwidth\">\n<li>Directly supported more than <strong>4,300 students<\/strong> through accommodations, advocacy, conduct processes, crisis response, accessibility services, food security initiatives, and basic needs support.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Coordinated <strong>74 Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) <\/strong>cases involving student distress, safety concerns, and complex behavioral situations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Responded to <strong>24 reported bias incidents<\/strong>, resulting in 70 coordinated Bias Resource Team cases.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Managed institutional response efforts related to student and community loss while strengthening URI&#8217;s postvention framework.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center fullwidth\">Supporting Student Success Across URI<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"fullwidth wp-block-paragraph\">The Office of Community Standards promotes accountability while supporting student learning and community well-being. Student concerns increasingly involved overlapping academic, financial, personal, and health-related challenges.
